We had a tweet-up during What’s New What’s Next at the New York Design Center a few weeks ago. It was the culmination of several days of events in which design bloggers from around the country, Canada, the UK and Europe gathered in New York City to be in the audience for the Nate Berkus Show.
The tweet-up was held in my new favorite showroom, Global Views. Global Views has an eclectic mix of furnishings, mirrors, lamps and accessories. The colors are vibrant, the styles are fun. There is a lot to see in Global Views – the shelves are chock-a-block with a mix of quirky and elegant accessories.
But it was the installations that drew my attention. Whoever is in charge of these does a great job of making them fun and interesting. Above, the layering of reflection with the large mirror surrounded by small mirrors and the polished chrome chandelier in front was unlike any installation I had seen before.
I could not get over the scale of the modern chandelier nearly touching the floor with the quirky lit up tables and the accents of orange in the glass bowls and the rug.
Here the shape of the mirror is reflected in the handles on the drawers. The whimsical head on the top of the vase would make me chuckle every time I walk by.
Accessories can be a great way to update a room without breaking the bank. Let’s go shopping!
I love to hear from you. Where is your favorite place to shop for fun accessories for your home?
